Veszprem, one of the oldest cities in Hungary, is also one of the three European Capitals of Culture 2023 - along with Elefsina in Greece and Timisoara in Romania. The city and the entire surrounding region north of Lake Balaton seem to be well prepared for the expected rush of visitors.
